I travelled to Portugal and made a special trip to see Marjolein at Salty Dreads, and I can honestly say the whole experience was pure magic! ✨

Before I even got to Portugal, she was so kind and helpful, sending me pictures, asking thoughtful questions, and helping me narrow down the colours and styles I’d love most. She made sure everything was prepared in advance so it would be ready for me when I arrived.

When I met her in person, she was just as lovely, warm, creative, and completely tuned in to what I wanted. She’s a wonderful listener, and you can tell she truly cares about making each piece feel special and personal. I got clip-ins, a scrunchie, ponytail, bungee dreads and some hair wraps…the whole temporary shebang….and I’ve absolutely no regrets! Marjolein took time to show me how to style and mix them in different ways, and she even took pictures so I’d remember the looks later.

The dreads are amazing. Her work is absolutely exquisite. The craftsmanship, the colours, and the tiny details are beyond beautiful. Every plait, every wrap, every bead feels intentional and full of artistry. Marjolein isn’t just talented, she’s a true artist. She made my experience so special and memorable, and I left her studio feeling not just transformed on the outside but lighter and happier on the inside too. It was such a joy from start to finish.

Her communication and organisation were just as amazing as her creative work. She made the whole process effortless and enjoyable, from the first message to the final result.
