From a lifelong fascination with hair to the enchanting world of dreadlocks! My journey is a testament to passion and dedication.

How did you start?

Ever since I was very young I have been fascinated by hair, dreads, braids… you name it! You could always find me somewhere giving my barbies their regular make-over. Then around 30 years ago I finally installed in my first set of braids. This sparked the exploration that later guided me into refining my craft into numerous courses.

What are Dreadlocks to you?

Dreadlocks are so much more than just a hairstyle. They are known to be the extensions of our aura, soul and energy. This is why it means so much to me to give other people the opportunity to dive into that feeling and way of taking care of yourself.

Where are you based?

I am originally from The Netherlands but in 2016 moved to the Algarve in Portugal. So now SaltyDreads is based in the beautiful landscape of Portugal!

Salty Salon

SaltyDreads has its own studio based in Portugal. It is in this beautiful space that Marjolein makes hair dreams come true for people from all over the world!
