The Ultimate Temporary Dreadlock Starter Kit:

Okay, so you are finally giving in to that inner voice whispering “Get dreads… Get dreads…” But where oh where do you start? It’s no secret that there is an overwhelming amount of information, tips and tricks and dreadlock products out there. So let me break it down for you and give you THE ultimate Temporary Dreadlock Starter Kit!

Let’s Get Started!

Temporary Dreadlock Extensions:

A little rundown, here we go: when you’ve acquired your extensions, the first 2 things you will need are elastics and a loop tool. Whether you’re getting them installed by a professional or ordering them and doing it yourself, spare elastics are always good to have! The loop tool can also be used for beads.

In terms of haircare, to start, you can use a residu free shampoo, conditioner on open hair (not dreadlocks themselves) and of course a refreshening spray with your favorite scent!

After your shower, a microfiber towel is a must! Since you definitely don’t have to wash your dreadlocks every time you shower, a dread-head sized shower cap will be your best friend. Will you look like a mushroom with it on? Definitely. A stylish one though.

And last but certainly not least, wearing a (satin) nightcap and sleeping on a satin pillowcase when going to bed will ensure protection from frizz!
